Married for 50 years, John and Mary Mertes have raised 9 children and are the “old ‘n slow” delivery and babysitting service for 33 grandchildren. For the past 30 years, John and Mary have been working with engaged and married couples, helping them to develop healthy, successful, lifelong marriages. Having been involved in Marriage Encounter, Pre-Cana, Engaged Encounter, Retrouvaille, and Spiritual Direction Retreats, John and Mary now meet with couples on an individual basis who are in danger of divorce or are trapped in the misery stage of marriage.

John and Mary will be presenting Dr. Gary Chapman’s 5 Love Languages which concludes that each individual gives and receives love in basically 5 different ways. Each individual speaks his/her own language and rarely do married couples speak the same language. Learning to speak the love language of one’s spouse is one simple and practical way to live out the CEE concept of Marriage Morality on a daily basis.
